I've been repairing scuffed and scraped bumpers for over
16 years now, saving owners upto 75% on traditional bodyshop prices. Bumper scrapes, scuffs, scratches, cracks and dents are often repairable for less than your insurance
excess. A body shop can typically take 3 to
5 days to repair your vehicle, I can repair it at your premises within a couple of hours, at a fraction of the cost.
Most bodyshops will tell you that the
bumper needs replacing, even for fairly minor damage. I believe in repairing and not replacing,
where ever possible, thus reducing cost and time.

My van contains a paint mixing scheme enabling all
colours to be matched to the manufacturers formulation.
Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the colour to
take into account sunlight fading etc, this is where over 16 years of experience makes all the difference. It is very rare that a colour defeats me.

Scuffed Bumper - Repair Example 1
This Peugeot front bumper had grounded
when entering a driveway. I jacked up the car to allow acess to the underneath. Then it just needed sanding down, priming
and then painting and lacquering.
It took a little over 1 hour and cost the customer £
75 plus VAT.

Scraped and Dented Bumper - Repair Example 2
This Vauxhall Omega front bumper had obviously received a considerable
knock. The owner took it to a Body Repair Centre who advised her that the bumper was beyond repair and
therefore would have to be replaced, at a cost of £ 450 !!
Fortunately I was repairing a bumper across the road at a neighbours house
and the owner noticed my van and came over. I felt it was repairable assuming I could 'massage' the dent back into shape first.
This was one of those situations where I couldn't be sure what could
be achieved until I started repairing.
My policy in this situation is :- if I feel that there is a reasonable
chance of achieving a satisfactory repair then I will start the repair, if at some stage it becomes clear that the damage
is beyond repair then I will inform the customer and leave without charging for my time.
Once I had removed the dent then the repair became a standard job and as you can see the end result speaks
for itself. The repair was carried out on the customers driveway and took 90 minutes from start to finish. I
quoted the owner, prior to commencing the work, £ 90 plus VAT and she happily
paid that sum. When you consider the car would have gone to a Body repair Centre for 3 to 5 days and cost £
450 it is no wonder the customer was happy.

Scuffed Bumper - Repair Example 3
This Suzuki Vitara rear bumper was quite a straightforward
repair. It just needed a light sanding down, priming and then painting and lacquering. It
took 1 hour and cost the customer £ 70 plus VAT. This repair was carried out at the
customers home, on her day off.
The apparent difference in the colour match here is explained by the difference
in light. The problem with 'before' and 'after' photo's is that the light has often changed by the time the repair is finished.
The 'before' photo was taken in sunlight which had disappeared by the time the 'after' photo was taken.
If you look at the 'after' photo you can see the bumper matches the body panel above.

Scuffed Bumper - Repair Example 4
This Renault Clio front bumper had a 'coming together' with
a gate post. The customer attempted to tidy it up with a few touch in's but didn't have the correct colour.
I was recommended to the owner by her sister, whose bumper had previously had the Smartfinish 'treatment'.
This was a pretty straight forward repair requiring a light sanding
down prior to priming, painting and lacquering. You will notice that the damage had also gone onto the wing above, requiring
a further "blending in" of the paint etc. The other aspect of this repair is the black insert/moulding which
was also damaged, requiring an additional texture/stipple coating prior to painting.
It took 1 hour 40 minutes and cost the customer £
85 plus VAT. This repair was carried out at the customers home.

Scraped Bumper - Repair Example 5
This Mercedes rear bumper had a fairly basic scuff. The scratches needed
a light sanding down and the colour was a basic black. The repair took about 1 hour and cost £
70 plus VAT.
Anyone who has owned a black car will know how difficult they are to
keep clean, the first thing I had to do was to polish the panel above the bumper to reveal the true colour, otherwise how
could I match it ?
The 'after' photo shows the finished repair and I am sure you will agree that the bumper
matches the panel above. Unfortunately I didn't have time to polish the rest of the car !!
